Inappropriateness aside, why on earth can't people just let kids be kids? Childhood is over all too quickly as it is, and with the pressures of modern society and and the influence of the media, kids are growing up earlier and earlier these days. Why do people insist on making them into minature adults? Wherever you go, you see kids in adult styled designer clothes, 5 year olds wearing bikinis in the swimming pool, I even saw an advert for make over sessions for 6-8 year olds the other day!
I went to a village fair at the weekend, my kids played "hook a duck", joined in the egg and spoon race, and my daughter did so whilst choosing to wear a ballerina costume with yellow wellies! Why? because that's what kids are supposed to do, and they should enjoy doing exactly that while they can. Most of us will have 60+ years of pretending to be an adult, so why is it necessary to start all
that any earlier?

exactly this ^^^^^^^ and whether it was intended or not (almost certainly not) pole dancing is associated with the sex/ exploitation industry. Hardly the best role models to be suggesting kids follow? It's getting truly stupid in America with some states allowing cosmetic surgery on kids, we don't want to end up like that surely?

Very distasteful. I went to a primary schools choir event over Christmas where a class of 7 year olds were singing Queen's "Don't Stop me now". Harmless till I heard them singing the line "I'm a sex machine ready to reload". I thought - "did I just hear that??"

I blame all this trashy behaviour on the Kardashians/Miley Cyrus/Rhianna etc who endlessly promote sex = success. And everything else that's wrong in the world .. :D

Dave has this absolutely spot on.

It's not at all appropriate, kids should be allowed to be kids and not dressed up mini adults etc.

People need to be parents to their kids and not just treat them as little friends
