Hello Everyone,
I have a 1.3 SPI mini with manual gearbox from 1995. One day when driving, the engine just stops. After months i've found out that 2 wires had melted somehow (see picture 1 and 2). After repairing this, the car wouldn't start. When turning the key to the 2nd position, you would normaly hear the fuel pump for a few seconds then stop. When you turn the key to the last position, the engine should crank. Both does not work.
All electrical stuff (lights, horn, wipers, etc) works. You would normally hear a click comming from the relay box. Nothing.
So I replaced the loom from the engine bay all the way to the back with a new one without alarm. I've also replaced my ECU and relay box, STILL NOTHING!
So I went to opened my relay box and pressed all 4 transistors (or what it's called) and voila, fuel pump working, engine cranking. But engine won't start because the ECU is not opening the nozzle on the injectors.
I've studied the Haynes manual and notice a switch for the automatic gear box. I went searching and found a white plug, which I then hopefully bypass (see picture 3).
STILL NOTHING! AARG!
What am i still missing? Hoe do I force the ECU to send fuel to the Injectors? What are the checks performed by the ECU to at least crank the engine? I've tested every cable (except sensors). Need help, I'm stuck for months now.
Thanks in advance!
