Hi all Minifriends.

Have replaced the engine and I have problems with it since then.

When I strain or run higher than about 65 mph (105 Km/h) so after 5-10 minutes the engine starts to loose the power.

The engine is a:
4 cyl. 1275 cc. (MG 1300 Mk II - 1970)
MG 1275 cylinder head. 12G940 unleaded converted.
Block drilled to +20. and larger pistons.
Kam. 276 Megadyne road rally
SU HS4 carburettor with aluminum inlet.
Tubular headers. LCB 2-1
Fuel pump sitting in the engine bay on the torpedwall: SU AUA 25

We measured in the exhaust pipe fuel mixture by  of a computerprogram and a probe.

The engine has been set to the correct fuel mixture.

To pull out the choke does not help.

Driving without a fuel cap did not help.

We checked the fuel line, all lines and hoses had been replaced.
We have checked the tank, it looks clean and the filter in the tank was clean also.
Venting to the tank is free.

Can try to put the fuel pump in under the tank, maybe it can solve the problem?

Someone who has experince same problem or can give me suggestions ?

i had somewhat similar problems, only they appeared sooner as engine heated up, and came with the noise from the engine head.

The problem was with the valve guides, those were too tight, and, with valves heating up they got blocked into guides. Re reaming guides to the specification solved the problem, but it took me and the garage a lots of headache to sort it out.

Hope this helps somehow.
