Its rust, those are the first places to go along with the A panels and scuttle.
Edit: Although pretty much anywhere except the roof will try and rust. Id go for a solid car with mechanical niggles, over a rusty one that runs sweet. mechanicals can be fixed, rust...... your stuck with it until a spare few grand is around for a reshell/repair and spray.

Yep front end change required there no two ways about it. The door rust although unusual to see it go there is at the bottom of the reinforcing plate that fits along the top of the door skin. So that is a defo re skin.

Personally I would walk away from that as there will be more hiding.

Yeah I can confirm that's rust on the doors, my drivers door went in the same place, a line of patches along the skin

30's in particular seemed to be very prone to rust - maybe it was the type of paint used?
