Buyer Beware!!!

I asked roofless (martin) if he could produce some centre cap inserts including the plastic locator which the sticker is placed on. Images were sent to him showing the exact item and we discussed this via facebook messages. I proceeded with the order and sent the actual item as a sample. After over a week without any further progress, I chased him and was put onto mike. Re explained everything to Mike, only to recieve 20 stickers and no plastic. So email them again, week passes recieve a parcel which contains some 3mm plastic cut outs, totally the wrong shape and too small to even fit closely to the item I required.

I contacted them and explained, only to be told to "take a dive". They are trying to say the plastic was a favour and not part of the order, but at no time has this been discussed. I have opened a paypal case as they wont refund or replace, only for Roofless to defend himself by saying I am out to con them of money.

Even if, and thats if, the plastic was only a favour, the actual sticker is still too small for the hole. Despite the emails saying they tried and tested them on my actual steering wheel centre I sent to them, so they could have the exact measurements.

Truth be told, they forgot or had a better/bigger/more valuable order and this was rushed and totally wrong. instead of having the guts to admit it and abit of customer service, hes been a tool about it.

Heres the item, I also have the facebook messages and emails, which will be sent to Paypal in due course.

Heres the original and sample item I sent to them, requesting the centres made with MOKE text and the plastic inserts.

Spot the difference...

10463943_10154431095575647_5422403551572

Way too small for the hole, so even IF the plastics were a "favour/gift" as they defend themselves, the sticker is too small. Depsite Mike and Martin saying they fit "perfectly" when they made them...?

Enough room to move around.....and fall out......not fit for purpose.

10516712_10154431095075647_2813992606257

Customer service is rubbish, very angry, arrogant and rude. I requested a replacement or refund, as the item isnt what i requested and isnt fit for purpose in any shape or form.

Oh yeah, he blocked me on facebook, then told me to "take a dive" by email, so I had no option to open a Paypal Dispute. They make out that the stickers are OK and the plastic was a favour, but i hope anyone viewing this will agree the sticker alone wouldnt be fit for purpose as its far too small for the hole anyway.

No comment on this but
Stuff he has done for me and mine has been perfect. I am a very satisfied customer of his. And yes these were specials and funnily enough one was a Moke badge for steering wheel centre and some were Moke wheel centres.

I have used roofless before....dont get me wrong. But its the attitude and just plain down annoyance of how they've treated me. I am now left with a product which isnt what I originally asked for, and isnt even the correct size to be used in any shape or form. Just what you expect when you order something, taking the time to send a sample item so they can measure etc....ive seen afew comments on facebook about time delays and afew issues, but not sure if or how they were resolved.

Very intresting form the somewhat good reports from them on here in time gone by,

Maybe someone just got abit lazy with your job and slipped there standards ? either way i'd be hainvg a Employee meeting if this is an internal matter, just goes to show how one mans mistake can reflect on buisness.

Well both Mike (employee?) and Martin (owner?) have been contacted. Martin is the one who said take a dive and replied to the Paypal dispute saying im trying to con them by extracting money for something I never paid for, which isnt true. Still doesnt change the fact the product isnt fit for purpose. Customer service NIL.

I tried to place an order through this site and was ignored. When I chased it up via pm I was fobbed off.

Took the business elsewhere.

My tmf stickers took ages to be delivered way longer than what it said it should be, they were probably busy or something.

Word of warning folks.

A custom item from stickyfingers aint covered by paypal buyer protection. So please proceed with care if you decide to use this supplier.

Martin has decided to publicly mock me (his customer) via facebook due to Paypal been unable to return my money. He still seems to think its ok to supply a product which isnt fit for purpose and then refuse to correct it. I laugh reading the emails were he says its "perfectly measured" yet as you can all see from the photos, its quite a difference and doesnt fit.

It may only be £20, but its the principle.....buyer beware with this trader!

I thought id let this run a bit, let jordie dig a decent sized hole for himself and then reply......

3 key things to bear in mind here :

1. he paid for the resin decals.....not the acrylics....we attmepted to do those as a favour..... and they were EXACTLY the same size as the ones he sent us.

2. He then tried to claim money back through Paypal for something he hadnt paid for....paypal saw what was going on and ruled in our favour....some might consider this fraud  - to claim money back for something you havnt paid for

under any normal circumastance I'll try and do anything to help anyone, I'll stay late, work on designs at home, work weekends..... but in this instance it is purely down to Jordies attitude and his correspondance style that made me decide, no....i dont like the guy, i dont have to do this, so screw it.....he can go elsewhere.

thats all it is.....no other reason what-so-ever....I just plain and simple dont like the guys attitude.....

trying to tell me how to run my business ....as if he's even remotely qualified to tell me  .... Ive owned 3 businesses, had rapid and great growth in all of them, sold 2 and I do ok  :proud: .... mocking me in public does not earn my respect regardless of who you are or what power you THINK you have to your elbow.

he's tried to mock me on facebook and got shot down in flames by many of our VERY happy customers....so to save himself any further embarrassment he had the post removed, on the forum here there is no escaping the facts : Mine is the biggest, most read and popular thread in the traders area......hundreds and very almost 1000 customers served and maybe only 4 issues to deal with in several years.

I have not blocked him on facebook, we had the status of our page changed to a 'trade page' and it simply means you cant post to the timeline... I have never had him as a 'personal' friend on my 'personal' profile on facebook, so this 'blocking' he talks of is simply an untruth.

now......the nitty gritty of it all.... the acrylics I did for him as a favour were made the same shape and size as the resin decals....they clearly needed to be a bit bigger, the stepped tab at the bottom of each could be done but its tricky.

as mentioned above.....under any normal circumstances I'd be straight back on the laser cutter and give it another go..... any if Jordie wants to wind his neck in and stop trying to promote us as some kind of rip-off merchant, I'll give it another go....heck knows these would sell well in Australia and through our trade outlets.

I should also respond to a couple of other comments from above..... there was a long period recently when I struggled to respond to a number of people and lead times extended after the death of my wife, but with the help of mike joining the team things are generally speaking now back to normal on the work front.....we do our best, sometimes it takes a bit longer than it should, but hey.....we're not amazon....these are not 'off the shelf' products, and things take time unfortunately.
