I need to replace a gear selector seal as I noticed oil leak. How to take a alu seal o-ring out? I already removed outside rubber seal but there is also inner oring. No idea how to take it out...help!

Drill a hole in it with 1.5mm bit then use a self tapping screw to twist into it and then pull it out. Hardly anything holding it in its just ruddy awkward.,looks nice and clean down their ;)

Be careful you don't catch anything with the drill as a snag will destroy any new seals, even if you smoothed off the snag it would just seep round, I've heard of people jut pushing the new ally seal in and leaving the old one in there,

Good advice. I've only done it once a couple of weeks ago. Go slow and it's easy

Done it! Thanks #Scoop77! It worked well. Actually it is easier than I thought. It was a challenge as I am website designer not a mechanic :)

I am trying to make my Mini alive after a few years in a garage. I already cleaned up and refurb carburator, placed new inlet manifold and cone air filter, seales of the inspection holes replaced, oil pressure sensor replaced , rocker cover gasket, fresh oil and the oil filter. I am going to fire it up tomorrow so guys, fingers crossed! :) I hope that engine will start..

All by myself :) Thanks to Mini Magazine, Mini World, internet and guys like you on a Mini forums. Thanks a lot!

Good luck Mizzy! You can do it.
