In my parts I have so many close calls and the Blackvue has caught about 3-4 in the first week of putting it in, one being an old couple who decided to slow down to 30-40 on a slip road to catch the M4 at the last moment as they decided they needed to stay on the M25?!!!

Just looked at the footage as I had it saved on my phone, the app allows you to download videos direct to your phone and share them on youtube too. I took a screenshot off my phone to show the quality, you can see the car on the right which caused a problem. I recall it being £289 which in my opinion well worth the money for something which is gonna be reliable and worth every penny if the worst was to happen.

Looks like a awesome bit of kit GreaseMonkey. Looks the part too! Nice and discreet. Quality is great too.

Shocking from the old couple. That's why I've decided to get some. Fed up of silly drivers and people pulling out on me. I'm alright in the Civics, but in the mini I've had a few occasions where they try their luck. Piece of mind really.

I bought an Action Cam 990 from the Ideal Home Exhibition this year - £99.00. It's great. I don't have it in the Mini but have it in my daily driver. It records at various speed and pretty much does everything a Go-Pro does apparently. Can't fault it.

Come at me rubbish drivers!! Actually no, don't! :P

Get some footage up when you can. I am planning on using mine at MITP, should get some good footage on the way in and out (not going down the strip).

I had a few cheap ones and have bought a Blackvue 550. It has a dual camera setup, front and back. Excellent bit of kit. Has a wifi capacity so I can sit in the car and view videos off an app on my phone. Playback on computer is simple and has GPS so position and speed and ability to view footage of front and rear camera at the same time. I got it from Amazon as it was cheaper.

where did you/how did you mount it? Looks very good.

I have a go pro black. I don't use it for general driving but when I'm out on a run I like to record the route and make little videos to bore all my pals with

The quality is great but it's a bugger to use. No screen and a dopey multi bleep interface leaves you uncertain what it's doing most of the time

I'm trying it with the ap on my phone next time but unsure what the legalities of that are?, driving whilst using a mobile phone as opposed to driving whilst using a touch screen! Hmmm

Using hands-free devices when driving

You can use hands-free phones, sat navs and 2-way radios when you’re driving or riding. But if the police think you’re distracted and not in control of your vehicle you could still get stopped and penalised.

I think this is the manufacturer of them, pretty cheap if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks....

so do these dash cams need hard wiring into the vehicle for a power source or do they have batteries and how long do the batteries last

They just plug into your 12v lighter socket or via a 12v-USB device, I believe. Although if you have the technical know-how, I don't see why you couldn't hardwire it for a cleaner look.

The möbius one I done a 200 or so mile round trip other day in mini and only lasted half of that, so at the mo I've got mine always in the civic as I need to get a 12V lighter socket fitted in the mini.

My mates gf won the newest GoPro on a Lucozade bottle recently and sold it on Facebook for £50 posted! :( :(
