I have been using a Pela pump to change the oil on my aged Audi and it works great. Can I use it on my recently acquired 94 Sprite?
Any tips on removing the oil filter?
Thanks!

Can't understand why you would want to use a pump?
Anyway, just unscrew the sump plug, let the oil out and use a filter removal tool to get the filter off. I recommend the chain type one but there are many available.
Be careful with the sump plug as i have heard they can cause a few problems with the threads.

no you can't use them on minis as the gearbox will most likely get in the way putting the tube down. I second what is said above regarding taking the sump plug out. Your more likely to get more solid rubbish out doing it that way. I find that the mini is just high enough to slide a catch tray /washing bowl under neath with no jacking anyway

the filter can often be taken off by hand if you've got strong fingers or alternatively take grill of and stick a screw driver in and turn it till loose enough to come off by hand. Re fitting can just be hand tight.
