OK just for fun which head gasket would you go for ? The engine is a 1400cc tuned A series  (not A+). compression ratio of 10.5:1, center main strap (you get the picture). 

A : 3 shim from MED

B:  a good quality copper one

I've heard good things about cometic gaskets but are incredibly expensive
