hi guys, anhone uprated their fuel pressure regulator (mpi) as with the cooper s works. Have spoken to a few companys who can supply one, apparently its just a case of squishing the current one, or are there any on the market good to go?

I have one going spare as I have fitted the sc kit.
Fitting instructions looked simple but I've no idea how good it is. to be honest the mpi setup is crap lol.

That's the plan to go as well jake I think but just wanted to see if there was some way of adjusting mine if it needs to be

Get saving buddy, it's well worth it.
My mpi was running 72 bhp (s works 90kit plus sw5) and note I've got it running 91! Pills nicely through to a 6800rpm peak part is at 5850 up from 5200.

As for your fuel pressure, is it the power boost, are u selling, i may be interested, however I'm likely to fit the head etc first and see how the fuelling is first...

I have the kit waiting to go on my spi. Did your alarm and immobiliser still work when fitting sc kit?

Fuel reg is not needed unless you fit an uprated head. 

Some people say they aint needed, but it made a difference to my mpi after it was fitted. Better to fit a gauge to it so it leaves adjusting it better/easier.

Theres some cutting of the fuel line to the injectors to do and rerouting of fuel lines etc. Just a pain with everything in the way!

 

Just don't jump at the words 'power boost' it's only valuable if other components are fitted and setup properly.

I'm fitting it because of my head as long as the engine runs lean, any ideas do the gauge u connected and how I hooked it up mate?

It should have come with directions for installation. The gauge was similar to this...

 
there is a threaded hole in the regulator to screw one of these in.

thats perfect mate, any chance of taking some pictures of what fuel lines you have cut and where the pipes go to?

Where can I get and adjustable one like this with a gauge?
All the ones I see are a fixed pressure.

Also dose the increased pressure not mean that apart from the top of the revs the car runs rich?

not neccessarily, its depends how your engines runnning, mine seems to be running slightly lean from my maniflow system...which means a fuel pressure regulator will work well, go to minisport minispares and type in power boost valve(goochy name for fuel pressure regulator) the gauge can be bought seperate.

Well mine is a 1330 now but only runs lean after 5k RPM do dont rag it so rarely go over 5k. I would just like to know it has enough full if i do rev it to the stops from time to time, but then i don't want to over rich the lower running...

 

Whats the stock fuel pressure?
