I have a feeling I need new drums and shoes tho, so I was thinking that it would be a good time to go rear disks if im ever going to.

I only have standard drums at the moment, not minifins or anything.

How much are alloy arms?

As for the timing belt.... I use the Kent High velocity chain never had a problem, always worried abut the service interval on the belts, but on a competition car where the engine will be in and out (?) not so much of a problem..

Well its not a competition car but it rarely gets used on the road, doesn't cover much mileage so service intervals aren't a problem.

I know duplex chains are better than a single but they still stretch, and I hate the noise!

Try the Kent then, no noise, don't stretch, and I must admit, rather pretty, and none of this farting around with different timing covers etc etc

Is that one big chain? Do these not stretch at all then? How much?!

That's intersting, I wonder how much that is, and what weight the gears are.

I wouldn't bother with rear disk brakes, just not needed. I use a belt drive, but also don't do many miles. Before I just had the single chain with a tentioner, you couldn't hear that, but timing the cam in was a pain.

Timming the cam with the belt must be similar to timing it with a duplex vernier isnt it? That's what i've got now, was ok with a dial guage and the head off.
