I am just about finished doing bits and pieces to my mini (mainly replacing the a-panel, passenger door and rear quarter) and need to think about repainting it. I am a little bit lost on what is best. I have been reading up on roller painting, and i am swaying towards it! But then celly should be better?

I have a 24L compressor and cheap spray gun, and my garage should be big enough to spray. But i am worried about the compressor being too small for the job, and worried about the overspray, or annoying my neighbours.

not really sure on the best way forward?

A small compressor can slow down the paint job but it's not impossible. You would just need to be patient and allow the compressor to catch up so you are not trying to spray at a low pressure which would give a very dry finish.

If it's just the side you are painting, then it should be straight forward.

You would be better off lining your garage with polythene or the like to keep dust down and prevent everything getting covered in overspray.

As for paint choice, it is your preference. Celly is advised for use at home for safety reasons

If your garage is attached to the house or next door, then be careful of fumes or do it when everyone out. A lot depends on your gun if it is efficient and gives minimal overspray then it will be much better than on old spraygun that is very inefficient.
A touch up gun can also be used and if set correctly shouldn't be much worse than an aerosol, in fact I get more smell when I use aerosols due to high thinner content. Take your time and get the prep right first and all should be ok.

Its the whole car that needs done. i am tempted with spraying in the garage (will line it with with poly sheets). my garage is attached to my house, but about 3m from my neighbours what about rustoleum?

I painted my car in sections which is possible with a solid colour, this way you minimise any disruptions, also using a touch up gun really does make a massive difference to any overspray, it does slow the painting process down but that's no bad thing when starting out.
