Hi;

I painted some suspension parts with Epoxy last night but did not have enough time to do the Top Coat (Fast Engine Paint).
The Epoxy has been on for 12 hours or so, does it need flatting or can I spray straight over it, i'll be spraying the Fast Engine Paint thinned with Celly Thinners to 10 - 20%?

Surface Dry Time is 10 Hours at 23 Degrees.

Thanks

normally you have 36 hours time but it depends on the manufacture. so you have to read the instructions to take the right answer.

for example i am using spies Hecker 4500 epoxy and you have 24 if you use it as wet on wet

So as long as its within the window before its cured it does not need flatting / keying?

The Jotun 87 is 10 Hours Surface Dry, 7 Days Cured. It also states Minimum to Re-Coat 10 Hours, but I have been told its OK to spray more Epoxy or Top Coat a lot sooner than this, Epoxy straight away and other Paints in an Hour once its flashed.

Won't hurt to give it a rub to a dull finish with a scotch brite before sticking a top coat on it bud.
