A set of the the later hook type arms with bosch s11? blades are the best, all the chrome ones seems to be crap.

Yep. Get a pair of hook arms from ebay for a Land Rover Defender for 8 quid (they require some light modification) and a pair of Bosch SP11 blades.

You won't get much better.

I have fine tuned my land rover ones now, the trick is to scoop out the metal in the cups so they push on further so the bonnet will open.

That's exactly what I did

Absolutely great, can't see why anyone would pay £35 for some worn out Rover ones to be honest!

That's great, thank you.
I've just ordered a set, should come in useful with winter around the corner.
Just so you know, I've ordered a pair of Bosch SP11 blades from Euro car parts £6.20 with free p+p

I should have done it before mashing the paint off the front of them but at £10 a pair or whatever they were I can get a new set and hollow them right out next time when I have the car resprayed.

How did you scoop out the metal?
I used a dremmel type tool with a little grinding stone.

You can get the tools quite cheap these days and its handy for lots of other jobs, you could put it in a drill but it would be tricky, the hand held one is like being a dentist!
