The camera will buffer to an internal "ram", and the speed of the card will dictate how quickly the video can be transferred from the camera to the card.

I'll see what speed mine are. I need to dig everything out, format it and charge batteries etc before the weekend

Yeah, I've been caught out by card 'speed' before now.

Thanks very much for that.

Don't know too much about cameras and wasn't aware that you needed different class cards to do different things.

I shall get a class 10 card next week, they are less than a tenner for a 32GB which i don't think is too bad.

Also Grumpy2, we are still so pleased with the camera. It's had lots of use so far.

Thanks

Ben

That's great, glad you are happy.

I would suggest a smaller card, not sure how well the camera deals with such high capacity memory, I used 8gb and it would still store about 1000 photos, never used it for video though.

Cheers

It also depends what's in frame. Images that are largely white or bright contain little detail and so little information. If there is less information in a frame then there is not as much data to dump on the card and so a slower card will keep up.

I got a 64gb Samsung card from fleebay for my go - pro last year. It was advertised as class10. It would not record anything. I gave it to the wife for her phone and when I tried to transfer all her stuff it said it was complete bur she lost it all! It was a fake! I knew it was cheap when I got it!

I watched a programing about fake memory cards and USB sticks

Many advertised as 32gb or any of the high ones were often only 8gb maximum

Even though they would show as the stated 32gb or whatever it may be.

Also fake hardrives...one guy bought a super duper one and tried to use it but it didn't work..
He opened it up and all that was inside was the mini USB part and the led light so it looks like its working

Was just an empty case

Guess all I'm saying is beware of the cheaper ones

This one is fine but just the wrong class. I shall just keep it and buy a class 10 for video and use the 4 for photos
