right then here goes!
as says above my fogs aren't working (front ones on mpi cooper)
there is power at the switch,
when i put test bulb across pins 86(blk wire) & 85(bl/gr) on relay it lights up
put a by pass wire betwwen pins 85 & 87 both ( bl/gr) and fog lights come on!!!!!
have tried another relay but no change
got me baffled so if anybody can help please feel free to do so

Is there power to pin 30? That's where the juice is supposed to come from to the lamps. Incidentally, the relay exists because the dash wiring and switch circuit isn't capable of powering the lamps so don't bridge the switch output into the lamps for very long or very often, you could start a fire.

just checked and there is no power to pin 30!!
where does that draw power from?could switch be faulty?

I've a similar problem, my rear Fogs arn't working, I've checked the fuses... tho i can't identify which is specifically for Fogs i can't find any blown fuses...
I've removed the rocker switch and the re-wired the rear fog light so there is a good connection from the switch to the bulb. But how do i check the switch has power?
I'm thinking if i can't find the fault, could i run a new wire from the fuse box to the switch and an earth from the chassis? I only need a fog light for the MOT as the car is only used in good weather.
