I still have the scenic.
Haven't done anything to it since my last post.
I have found a local bloke that has a DCI scenic with a broken gearbox but is otherwise complete and in good condition.
So i am looking to either get it and fit my box to it or get it and put it's engine in mine.
Haven't decided yet though.

How much is the second Scenic Ben?
What would you be out of pocket after selling the remains of whichever gets harvested for parts?

I haven't made an offer on the second one but i doubt he would have alot of luck selling parts off it here on the Island so i shall offer scrap value to start with.
I'm going to make a start taking the head off of my one today so i can see what the problem is before i get another one.
mine is much nicer than the other one so i probably would buy the other if needs be, take the engine and a few other small bits i need and then weigh it in together with the scrap engine.
The other one has done 130K but has had a new turbo at 110K
Ill know in a few days once i get mine stripped.

Got the manifolds back off, got everything disconnected and i have the cambelt un tensioned and off.
I have taken the engine mount off but can't seem to get the cam belt cover right off and i now need to take the other part of the engine mount off of the engine which looks like i need to remove the fuel pump and alternator.
It's a bloody nightmare!!!!!
I really hate this car

Open petrol cap, light match, insert into hole, problem solved! (Make sure you stock up on marshmallows first).
Once again....

I know its a bit extreme but im going to pick this up monday
Its recently been serviced and had a new turbo 18 months ago.
Been talking to the seller today and he has receipts for quite a bit of work recently over the last year.
It needs a gearbox but the engine is perfect so i figured it would be cheaper and easier to put my gearbox on this engine and then drop it into my megane.
Saves faffing and works out much cheaper than getting the bits to do mine.
