Well ive just fitted the fan etc

kicks in at 80 deg it can be adj. but its on the minimum

the controller on mine is very sensitive, thers a small slot

to put a screwdriver to adj. when it was hot trying to adj.

it just kept turning all the time, but when cold felt slight resistance

for min and max

the car before only ran at 70 deg now it runs at 75 - 80

much better and car feels better running warmer

I know thers ment to be a 2 -3 hp difference

and prob more torque, must admit car pulled well in third

seemed bit better but that maybe me

so yes would adise fitting one and easy to fit realy

went for a spin

If you are running unleaded fuel then the optimum water temp is 88 degrees.

i see you can buy cheap fans and temp controllers etc

but don't fancy the idea of using them

would rather pay the extra and use one that's been proved

like kenlowe and revote. particulary when factory fan taken off

Surely with a side mounted rad it's going to be on quite abit?

I've got an electric fan and mechanical and only just keeps cool in traffic throughout hot summer days.

it only comes on when temp is 80 deg

I got carbon fibre front with no inner wings

so seems cooler, often only running 75 - 80

well fan been on for over a week now

and been fantastic, should have done this long ago

runs between 75-90 mainly around 80 which is perfect

for me

runs better , more torque, feels good running at hotter temp

than before which was normally around 70

Set it so that the fan kicks in a few degrees after the stat opens, so around 90-92 degrees.

the fan is set to come on at 80 even tho got a 88 stat in it

seems fine, maybe I will fit an 82 stat

like car running at around 80

Seems a bit pointless having a fan blowing on a rad that's not circulating water?

Rover swapped to an 88 degree stat for a reason.

Hi

if the car has a bypass hose

and the heater is on its flowing through the rad

and thats why the fan switches on

That's not how the bypass works, the only way water can go THROUGH the rad is if the thermostat is open or been removed/drilled.
