Urgent Help Please - Mini Failed Mot On Co Emissions

Best Answer RedRuby , 01 September 2014 - 12:09 PM

Mark, welcome to this forum and please feel free to post on here but as it is urgent can I suggest that you try www.mini2.com as that is a dedicated BMW mini site and someone on there is more likely to know the answer for you. This site is more for the classic mini so perhaps not as much experience of the ZBMW mini. Good luck. Go to the full post

Hi,

My mini failed its MOT today (at KWIKFIT) and I urgently need to get it fixed by tomorrow am if at all possible.

It failed on headlight adjustment, which I can sort myself but more importantly it failed on CO emissions. Hoping for some simple and cheap advice to resolve without the expense of a new cat. I tried an engine improver after it failed and ran it for 40 mins at high revs up the motorway but it still recorded a fail on CO. Results as follows:-

Fast Idle CO: 0.22/HC: 66/Lambda: 0.993

Second Fast Idle CO: 0.26/HC: 58/Lambda 0.992

Second test after the run was still at CO 0.26

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark
