Hi guys and girls. i am having a problem getting my mini running well it not ran well since i had it. at the moment it run well when itnot under pressure low revs on flat and down hill. but when going up hill the engine judders and and tries to stall anyone have any suggestions. its not long had new spark plugs new ht leads coil distributor. its got to the stage where i am half tempted to take the hole engine out and rebuild.....

you need to find the fault before pulling the engine.

 

check the timing and fuelling first.

as above.

check fuel filter, fuel at the carbie, and air filter blockage.... don't discount timing either... did you gap the plugs correctly/

I agree with both of the above suggestions.  I particularly agree with Earwax' suggestion that you look carefully at the fuel flow.

As above again, the engine does not need to be pulled out to check the basics first

 

When doing the above suggestions also check you have enough oil in the top of the carb, its a screw top called the dashpot

can anyone suggest a needle for a 998 runnning a stage on kit with a hif 38? dont no whats in there but i ferrl it is running a 1275 needle
