Are you talking about how to actually put in the head unit and where to put it or are you talking about wiring it in?

Mounting it depends where you want to put it, if you want it under the dash rail then a radio housing is needed. wiring it up is fairly simple and should have awiring intructions in the radio instructions. basically one to a live feed one to earth and an ariel and one to the ignition then each speaker has 2 wires positive and negative.

OK. so if your Mini does not have a dashboard fascia panel in it (like the burr wood ones etc) then you will need to consider where you want to position your head unit.

You can either purchase a centre console which most trim shops and eBay can supply with a Din size radio slot in it, or you can purchase a cradle which screws up to the underside of the lower dash rail above the passenger side foot well.

You will need to consider speakers and their position. You can either buy pod speakers which simply screw to the top of the parcel shelf or you can get speaker boards which fit under the front edge of the rear seat.

Once you have decided on speaker position, you need to run the speaker wires up to where you have decided to put the head unit. You can run the wires under the carpet.

Next you will need to run 2 live supply wires to your head unit. One needs to be a switchable live so that the radio comes on with the ignition and one needs to be a permanent live wire. You can take both feeds off of the spare terminals on the fusebox. You will need a multi metre to determine which ones are suitable.

And finally you will need an earth, This can be taken from any nearby metal body part. A ring terminal crimped tot he earth wire and then bolted through the bdywork would work well.

Once ou have your basic wiring in, you will then need to wire the speakers and power wires into an ISO plug so that it can be attached to the wiring harness of your new cd player.

Then its just a case of fitting the speakers, and head unit into position and your done.

Check out the ICE section on the forum for ideas and tips.

Buy an ISO plug with bare end wires.

Then you can wire the bare ends into the appropiate areas (permanent live, switched live, earth, speakers).

Then once all thats done, simply buy an head unit from anywhere, plug into the ISO, plug aerial in and turn one. Simples
