1990 Mini cooper honda 1.5 vtec engine road legal

 

Here is my 99% complete project it is almost complete and is on the road will need tax but will come with full 12 months mot

This car was mot'd last year but was used for about 20 miles as i9 did this project for my 19 year old son and found out is insurance for this car because of age was almost impossible to get.

The car as stood in garage now completed for over 12 months but the son as now decided to sell and get a more sensible car through the winter.

 

Some of you on here have asked before if I want to sell to let  you know !

 well here it is you have seen it heard it even been in it and everyone who as as had a smile from ear to ear

 

Right for those that hav'nt seen it

 

Original 1990 mini cooper on the logbook

 

Watson type conversion with rare roundnose front end fibreglass

1.5 Vtec engine which can be straight swapped with the 1.8

Spring road race suspension Watson 's

de cat'ed straight through exhaust

 

Pushing around 140BHP

 

4 pot metro brakes as used by watsons on there conversions

 

Mg ZR seats with custom rear seat done by retro retrims to match front

 

Custom dash with Honda clocks mounted

 

13" rare metro wheels newly powder coated with brand new tyres

90mm extended fibre glass front end hinged with gas struts easy to work on engine

 

This car is very nippy so not for faint hearted

Jobs to do needs a head unit wires for this have been put in speaker board is included and fitted with wires ready to feed to unit with 9" kenwood speakers

Fuel gauge wire as come of back of clocks so needs to be put back in when working was not accurate but at least you knew you got fuel in

The air vents in footwell can be blocked or repiped with ducting other than that that's about it

 

Looking for £3500 o.n.o

Will be going on ebay very shortly but minoi forum gets first refusal

Registered as 1275  on logbook but you can change with dvla if you wish

Yeah, but if you needed to make a claim, wont it be void if you say it's a 1.3?

Nice! Seems a very good price too. Keeping it registered as a 1275 isn't a smart move though.

I see it has a sunroof and red carpets and so it might have been an RSP. I know it might make me very unpopular but I think it would probably have been worth more untouched.

As a footnote to my comments above I apologise for being unspeakably rude about your car but I do think if you can prove that it is an RSP (BAD in the VIN number) it might enhance the sales potential.

I rebuilt this car from scratch have all photos from
When i bought it it was completly gutted and rebuilt
The original plates should be in my garage somewhere so will be looking for them and there is no doubt of its cooper suthenticity

To add to this the Honda transponder is mounted to original barrel so as Honda immobiliser functioning also

Yeah, unlikely, but could do. At the end of the day, if DVLA aren't notified of the engine change then you're pretty much driving without insurance...

Exactly. You'll have cheaper insurance, but it's pointless unless it's valid.
