Hi, I've done a few searches, but hasn't really helped.

I want to do away with the number plate light housing, so looking at getting them little led ones. Does anyone have any pictures of theirs? Also which ones and where's best to get them?

Any help appreciated

Ta

I also thought of using LED's on my number plate, as the standard bulbs aren't the best. I was going to buy one of those cuttable rolls from ebay which I could then also use inside the boot. It's easy to wire and you can get waterproof ones :D

Depending on how your number plate is mounted you could bolt these onto each side of your number plate, it was just an idea.

I know its not quite what you were asking, but I've replaced the standard festoon bulbs in the number plate housing with led ones, witch also fit the d shaped mk1 boot lamps.

You could always just put the led bulbs in the stock housing ?

Looks good mini25 :)

Cheers SA.

I'm not sold yet as it might look a bit naked without the housing, so will definitely consider LEDs to go in the housing. Thanks!

I have got these,as I have removed the rear light also. They seem bright enough, just hope they spread the light over all the number plate. Not fitted them yet.

I'm going to be getting them as im getting a smooth boot lid, de-seeming the rear valance then mounting the number plate off the valance on custom brackets, i though those LEDs looked great for the job.

I got rid of the lighting unit and mounted small LED units to the number plate:

Only thing you have to watch out for is rearward facing white lights...

Basically you should not be able to see the light emitting surface or element from behind the car, only the reflected light it emits. If you can it's an MOT failure.

The little LED bolts aren't bright at all but pass an MOT   Mine has them fitted but they are useless really.

I did have LED bolts first but they were poor so I swapped.

Yeah the bolt ones are the ones I was looking at getting.

Your mini looks awesome without the housing. I'm guessing the LEDs you have fitted now are loads better then?

Hmmm decisions
