I wouldn't have used 1500.... Perhaps the marks are from that paper. Have you tried machine polishing?

If the marks are akin to the same made by rough sand paper then it was the 1500 grit thats done it, I would say you need to work up from 1500 on the areas with ideally 2000 until the marks have gone, then polish up with various grades of polishing compound with a mop.
I wouldn't say you have ruined it but it will need taking out gradually, but be careful not to rub through the paint!
Post up some pictures before you start so we can advise with more info :)
Edit!
Ignore me, they look like little fisheyes, I would say its either severe orange peel or silicone contamination which causes tiny little fish eyes or water contamination that causes little blisters
This is severe silicone contamination:
and this is water contamination blisters :

Look like water from your compressor, its a common issue when painting in a garage.

use a water trap on your gun
make sure compresser is empty of water
make sure temp when painting isnt to cold
good extraction is a must
to be honest if it were me id flat it off and do it again it may cost you a few quid and some time but you will prob be happier in the long run.
sole destroying i know. If I dont get it almost perfect out the gun I flat it and repaint,

1500 is too coarse to be honest, 2000 wet and dry using lots of soapy water (car shampoo) and checking the paper for any pickup. Looking at your pictures it does look like water contamination and if you have bare metalled the car then you really need to do it once again.
Do not be tempted to flat back and paint again as all you will be doing is trapping the water even more and of course Mr Rust will make a very quick appearance. It will be back to bare metal and try again.
On a footnote i did this on my wifes mini in the mid 90's. My water trap was not up to the task plus it was during the summer and humid. Oh and celly. i learnt my lesson then. (we sold the car like this and the garage slapped 2K on that)

It was the same with the wifes car, looked lovely at 10ft but as you got closer you could start to see the pimples. Then as the winter drew in it went haywire. Gutted to say the least. I spent a week changing the front of the car, prepping it all for paint and that happened.
Its a learning curve unfortunately and there is nothing to do but start again. The only thing i will say if it was over existing paint then you may get away with rubbing back to the original paint and start again. But as i said previously if it was bare metal then i'm afraid it will be back to metal again.
