ive just baught a set of EBC red stuff pads, ive not used EBC before, are they any good?

Put them back in the box, and take em back.... not that they are not good, just not right for your application...
They are race pads ( I think also ceramic based )
Actually feel I need to clarify.. EBC pads come in a number of different grades ( they use colours to denote them ) each grade has different properties, mostly in connection with temperature, and braking effect...
When the disk gets hot, the pads loose their effectiveness, aka brake fade... so different grades = higher temp resistance..
black stuff are basically a road pad and good enough for pretty much any road mini
green stuff are higher grade, and are popular..
Red stuff come up even higher on the scale, what I would consider a pad for race application..
and I think they do Yellow stuff which is even higher...
Great you may think.... yellow stuff here we go no brake fade..... unfortunately if it were that simple...
The down side is that the higher grade pads, don't actually start to work unto the brakes 'come up to temperature', this is why you see all these nice parade laps with them stopping and starting in motorsport.
so.. red stuff + cold morning = no brakes !
IMO, best pads for a road mini are Mintex
