I was runing 2 JBL GT4 15's with 2 GTO4000's amps. This combo use to phsicaly move the car forwards and sounded great at the same time.

I have found that the sony Xplod series is total rubbish and does have a tendancy to "Xplode". Which when compared the the products avalible from the JBL series is pretty unexpected from sony.

The few grams of cone moving in and out managed to move your 700kg+ car forwards? That's clever :w00t:

I just can't see the point, most the time your going to have the system like at half volume, if that, why not spend the money you would spend on a dozen speakers on something else?

Why half volume? In my Clio, I have it LOUD a lot of the time...I love bass and I love music. Plus I only have 3 speakers in the car (or 5 if you count the tweeters/mids separately)

I've not measured it yet, but I'd hazard a guess at it being around 137dB (same kit did that score in my other car)

I couldn't drive with something at that volume. I have my stereo on so that I can hear it above road noise/engine noise/screams of passengers or people hitting the bonnet. Above that point is just excessive.

In your opinion, of course. I used to be paranoid about clutch control with loud music, but I'm over it (even though my car lacks a rev counter)
