well i only gone and fixed it!

Turns out pre tensioner open circuit was a dodgy connection under the passenger seat and Drivers level 2 airbag igniter short circuit is to do with the secondary igniter on the steering wheel airbag.

all i did was unplug the secondary connector which wasn't locked in properly and refitted it.

BINGO!

Thanks for the input, just need to book the re-test and sorted!

It passed!

Pretty good really, it's had no maintenance whatsoever this past year apart from one very long overdue oil change and all we had to do was front tyres, a bulb and the airbag light.

Not bad for a car that cost £170!

Well done. Now get working on the rear axle hangers. For 170 quid id want at least another couple of years out of it. ;-)

Ps. What was the cause of the abs light?

Still don't know. all of the sensors were checked by me pre-mot and all looked well.

The garage put it on the diagnostics and it had no faults to show or any stored faults so it remains a mystery.

It's back on now but was out for the MOT so that's all that matters

Get rid in 6 months

Thinking about that but the advisory makes the rear end look like a horror show so who would want to buy it for anything that's worth selling it for?

If we get £300 for it, then surely it would be better to have another 6 months of 65 MPG rather than the £300.

we are actually thinking about doing the hangers or at least clean them up a bit and see what they are like beneath the crust.

we shall see

What's up with the rear axle?

It has quite a bit of camber one side so the top of the wheel leans in noticeably. The issue is with the axle hangers that are welded to the chassis rails. They are corroded so the MOT man says he won't pass it next year.

Ill get some pics if anyone is interested..

Ben

Yeah....when you do come to advertise if for sale, I wouldn't use those pictures :teehee:

to be honest, though, it's typical PSA stuff again.  Nothing there that'd scare me off.  Does it knock at all?
