Hi, I have had an idea and would like the assistance of someone who owns a mk1 or mk2 mini. Basically I want to produce some external door hinges (3d printed).
Ideally I am looking for someone in or around Eastbourne and just need to take measurements of your hinges.
Merci buckets!

would they be strong enough to hold the weight of the door and glass, also they need the brass bush in them these are pressed in so would the powder be strong enough for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can buy new ones for templates.
if they were for a mk 3 shell and just for show this would be a great idea

I am thinking purely from an asthetic point of view, theres no way ABS plastic could be used as an actual hinge with the weight of the door on it.
and not powder printed, extruded plastic instead.

I was thinking of doing this, but I'm thinking of molding a set now. How are you going to make them work? slide along the doors?

I was planning to just have two seperate units one on the door and one on the a-panel, notch them together and stick them on as one unit, so when they open they seperate and when closed they look 'right'.
I am only doing them with a 3d printer as I bought one recently so makes sense. They may turn out rubbish but I fancy a challenge and I'm not busy enough with a full time uni degree, a part time job, a lambretta project, a mini project, and a shed to builld!

Ah, I did think of doing it that way but didn't think they would look right
Not too much to do then

Well when closed they will look fine provided they are installed to look right, but with the door open the illusion is ruined. I'm not too worried about that to be honest and no, I enjoy being busy!
