How advanced have you set the ignition timing at idle?

800rpm is far to low a idle take it up to 1000rpm and re-adjust the carb mixture and see what it runs like then

Im not sure what the timing is set at as I set it about 6 mouths ago, I will check tomorrow. What shall I have it set at as a good base point? I will try upping the tickover tomorrow.

Tickover at 800rpm is definitely too low for your engine spec.  I mean, they are all different and I'm not that familiar with your cam, not sure what your compression ratio is, but I'd guess 1000-1100rpm will give you a much smoother tickover.

For timing, as comparison I have a 1293 running milder cam than yours and this is about 12 deg static, about 18 deg at 800-1000rpm, and maximum total advance of 32deg all in by about 3,500rpm.

You may not need so much advance static and 18degs at 800-1000rpm as carbon, depending what distributor you use, you could always try 32degs max advance at 5000rpm and see how you go from there, you may not need to rev that high depending on what springs your distributor has, so you may see by 4000 its all in and does not go any more. I use a Aldon yellow and 12degs at 1000rpm vac off.
