The original 11-stud head could have been removed and a 9-stud fitted, but it is easy to drill a 9-stud head for 11 studs. I've done it several times for various Cooper 'S's.

I don't think you'll find an Inno with a Cooper 'S' block, but it is not important. In fact I've never seen a 1300 Inno Mini-Cooper which was not an Export, so I don't know anything about them.

Don't worry too much about the front seats. Fitting bucket seats was a 'period modification' and should not alter the value too much.

Make sure the door bins are in good condition. A lot have broken bins where people have pulled on them to close the doors. New ones are hard to find.

I thought I read that the Inno 1300 came with a cooper S block or engine was identical to Mk 2 mini cooper - but I may be wrong?

Still learning here

cheers

Ben

"The Innocenti Cooper 1300 came with a UK-built engine from the ADO16 1300GT saloon, developing 71bhp."

"Engines for the Export were based on the ‘closed’ block Austin 1300GT variety, but with a Morris sticker on the rocker cover. Initially the prefix for these was 12H635X, then it was changed to 12H719X in July 1973 when the modern pot joints were introduced on the drive shaft outputs."

Hi all, sorry to wade in on the discussion with a question but there seems to be a lot of expertise floating around so thought it might be a could place to pipe up.

My wife has inherited her dad's 1974 Innocenti Cooper 1300, we've brought it back from Germany, MOT'd and registered it. The only issue in the MOT were the headlights which were still LHD. Fortunately the very helpful MOT tester stuck some gaffa tape on and passed it. Obviously need to change them. Are the Innocenti's the same spec as BL's? And can anyone recommend the best lights to replace them with?

Sorry for the ignorance, all very new to me.

Thanks

The German market Innocentis had, I believe, clear glass indicators with double filament white bulbs.

On mine I fitted white lenses, a single filament amber bulb and re-wired the side lights to be in the new Wipac Quad-Optic halogen headlights which I fitted to make it dip left.

Thus it still looked original, but was UK legal.

I believe the door quarter windows don't open on German market cars. Is that correct on yours?
