So I've finally found a really good Gt project, I don't think I've seen a more solid original car. Its a 1980 3 owner car and comes with the original service book, the Gt handbook, Denovo service book and original bill of sale from Oliver U Tallet .

It's been completely stripped and remedial work completed. Including cills and floors from MG Rover. Bootlid and bonnet are replacements as the old ones were in a poor state.

It's all painted and rust proofed inside and underneath with brand new subframes. It also has a lovely set of Compomotive tf alloys. ;-)

I'm thrilled with it.

It's a big project for me in a miniscule garage but I can't wait.

Here's the Govner starting the journey home!

I will get some better pictures when it stops bloody raining!

The general plan is a totally standard looking with the Compomotive wheels and a fast motor.

Is that what was hiding under the tarpaulin?

What a great starting point! I'll be following your journey with interest!

And I love these Compomotive wheels, I've ordered some new centre caps for them.

Cheers Mike.

Just whipped the gearknob off and dug out the old paint from the symbol on the top. Then dipped it in white enamel paint a quick wipe and it's as good as new!

Just bought some Metro 4 pot calipers from a member on here, really nice. I'm now preparing for an almighty shopping list to Mini Spares :-)

Chrome mirrors are period aren't they? I have seen some gt's with chrome bits and they look good.

Chrome wipers look better but seem to lack the ability of actually removing water from the windscreen; i'll be binning mine soon if you want a set in as new condition

All the wipers and mirrors should be black on a 1980 1275GT i think. I've got lots to do before then though.

You don't actually try and use your wipers do you? I thought they were for show!

I've already got a chrome set. Cheers though
