I think i know why, going off your other thread you have put an led for the alternator bulb light in the dials? pretty sure this is the wrong resistance and causes it to mess up.

Didn't realise you had a led in place of the normal bulb, take the led out and replace it in its correct bulb holder (2 wire non earth) 12v 2.2w bulb and I 'm sure your problems will disappear if your alternators ok.

So could the wrong bulb be preventing the battery charging? Or just whether or not the light stays on? Ill give it a go when i get home but if thats it then thanks! And i will update my other thread to inform others of this
