Hi, i have a little 998 in good working order, but I want a bit more power. It has a standard block, and I was wondering what the maximum capacity it could be bored out to?

Mines out to +30, unsure if you can go higher.

You can go to +0.080" with absolutely no risk at all. That gives 1060 cc. But you won't gain much unless you fit a much improved cylinder head, fully gas flowed with a higher compression, together with a better cam, induction & exhaust system.

Pistons are available to take them out to +0.120" though you need to off-set bore them.

On a gas-flowed 12G295 head with larger inlet valves, a 3-into-1 ex. manifold, RC40 exhaust system, HS4 on alloy manifold, 510 cam accurately timed in, lightened flywheel, 10.3:1 CR, re-curved distributor, flat-top Hastings pistons, bored to 1060 cc I got 65 bhp at 6000 rpm. Torque was good too and with a 3.44:1 FDR it went well and was not quite so slow.
