haha I'm glad that you are all enjoying it.. -26C is a bit cold, and to be honest I'm a little surprised it went as easy as it did... I do have a plug in block heater and I generally give it a 20-30 minute plug in at any temp. below -10C if I've got time and a power outlet... But in all honesty having a good battery makes all the difference... I haven't needed to boost my car in years and that's year round use... Now if only I would put in a new solenoid and hook up my choke I wouldn't need to faff about as much haha.. but the ony thing worse than driving in the cold weather is wrenching in it.. hahaha.

But if you did the wrenching they we would not be watching that video.

I remember on New Year's Eve I was off to a party and closed my flat door to with out my gloves on. Had to wait a while for it to warm up so I could let go.
IIRC it said -26 in the taxi.

The cold weather won't hurt a battery as long as it has a charge and you keep using it... this is my daily car so no probems... I've had the same "optima red top" battery since 2010 and trouble free so far... if you leave a vehicle to sit in these temperatures with a weakly charged battery it will inevitably freeze that battery and ruin it... but if you leave it to sit in the cold with a full charge and just unhook the terminals it will be fine.

oooh right ok thank you for that

its just in camera batterys and similer gadgets the battery will just die in the cold

WHOLEY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!  man, that is so cold, it did my head in, that is almost unbelievable, but there you have the 'youtube proof' of it, just how easy that engine came to life.

We have the other end of the spectrum here, in fact, just lately daily temps have been knocking on the door of 40 degrees - and it's only the start of summer. Come late January and Feburary, Mid 40's will be the daily norm.  Hotest day I ever recall driving through was 53 degrees, it was so hot, I couldn't wear my metal framed sun glasses, as the heat coming off the frames was burning my face pretty bad.

Thanks heaps for sharing    like and really like
