That is an ideal size for the oil pressure gauge. If it comes on during a race push the clutch down immediately and switch off.

Thank you, that's good advice, I will make a note of that.

I notice you only have one fuel pump switch. Is that because you only have one pump? Personally I like 2 separate electric pumps piped in parallel and individually wired & switched for reliability, but it's personal choice really.

Ah, no that's not my car - it a picture I found on google. My understanding is when plumbed in parallel they provide increased flow but at the same pressure? I guess you have two pump for redundancy rather for flow?

It comes down to personal choice at the end of the day I guess. An Ammeter can be helpful, but as the others have said, a Voltmeter is probably more useful.

Long ago, I used to have an almost full 'Smiths Catalogue' fitted to the dashboard, now I couldn't care less, I have a Buzzer on the Oil Lamp and a Clock so I know when it's lunch.

Haha I'd not even considered a clock!

Second pump is simply for reliability. More important on a rally car than a race car and it goes back to the days of the (in)famous Lucas electric pumps which were notorious for failing. So on rally cars we either fitted the Jaguar twin-pump or a pair of Lucas pumps in parallel. At the start of a race or a special stage the second pump would be switched on for the test, then switched off after it finished. I guess I've carried the philosophy over to modern Facet pumps.

I have a heated screen so I also have a 'screen on' warning light as well.
