Hi there new to this forum, like i said on my introducing myself thread  Im 21 Years old, Im a Agricultural Engineer and im from stranraer,

had a few minis years before, just sold my twin engined autograss mini to fund a house and a project for the garage..

well here she is..

Mini Cooper 1275

Year : 1991

4 Owners from new

(locally registard to me)

Been of the road for over 12 years! all of witch were dry stored!

The man previous to who i bought it from owned a well established body shop in stranraer "CARS". moving on with jobs he moved to south of england leaving this beauty behind in his parents garage

he has had it on a spit and took the floor back to bare metal, all witch is origional, treated it and gave it the full works! including new front end,  complete scuttle.

by the looks of the car the plans were to paint the car away from its original red to "Volcano Orange"

Its had...

Powerdcoated rear beam axle conversion

Powdercoated new front subframe

Gaz gold coilovers all round

Polybushed complete front end

New steering rack

Metro Turbo vented brake conversion

and 13x7 Superlights wrapped in bridgestone tyres with lables still on..

however i bought the car like this for my next project and a change of color is in order, anyways heres some pic (they dont do it justice)

Hi,

No i wont be changing them, its been in a central heated heated garage for the last 14 years and it will be in a heated garage for the rest of its life as i will never sell this car and doubt very much that once built it will be used, its originates form my local town and means so much to a few locals.

i have 147 photos of the car before during and uptill now, it had the floor blasted and all rot (only sills and front end) cut out as was only 10 years old when took of the road for restoration, it was then Dynax S 50 cavity waxed and new genuine rover sills fitted, once these were fitted there was an extra coating Dynax s 50 (proved to be the best and apparently this stuff is used in steel cavities on oil rigs) then over sills wer fitted, this was down at a very reputible body shop on a spit jig it was all propperly protected and painted and have no doubt this is to the highest possible standerd at the time

Yes its not orignal and to be honest im not an orignal type of guy, and it will be far from original once finish as just sent a deposit for a forged 1380 motor :D

Had a good day on the car today!

all rear end prepped and ready for paint!

marked out the wings for were i need to cut them for the archs using the sports pack arch cutting template then making minor adjustments to suit the miglia archs! set the ride hight with the coilovers using a very helpfull ride hight chart on 13" wheels from another website

then cut them out! rathher chuffed had to trim the a-pannel after the picture as you see there isnt much of a curve but this was left as the miglia archs dont go right to the sill line like the sports pack archs do!
