Tell the thousands of people who were driving without insurance, they forced the rule change. Tougher and tougher punishments for no insurance over the years and ever more stringent checks weren't working and were taking up more and more Police time. Now it's much simpler, a car cannot be on the road at all unless it's completely legal. That makes it much more straightforward to find illegal ones.

Makes sense when put like that :) just a pain in situations like megamini_jb's. Me and the bf often change which of our vehicles we have on the road so it's something I shall have to remember!

Is that all! I wonder how much I'll get back with 3 full months. Probably only going yo get about £30 then as 1.6. Was expecting more like £50-£60. Will see anyway.

Not going to lie. Wish I just kept it taxed now as miss driving it already :( probably wouldn't of heard nothing from dvla anyway. If it was parked on the road then yeah of course I understand this rule. Not that stupid though and make sure sure it was off the road prior to the insurance stopping so can't see the problem. I paid for it...
