Hi peeps :)

My weber linkage kit came with a kit to convert my throttle pedal to accept 2 throttle cables ( comes with 2 throttle cables etc too).

But what the is the actual advantage? (except the looks of it :D )

I think I'll be using it, just because I need a new throttel cable anyway... :P

Main reason would be if one breaks you can still drive the car, although as load spread between 2 cables less chance of breaking anyway

Mmmm.... I have broken 1 or 2 cables over the years and I've caught probably as many before they went. I feel that having twins will only increase the friction, which may necessitate heavier springs, further increasing wear and foot fatigue. Just a thought, I've not tried them.

The issue is mounting to the pedal.

In the past , when a cable broke , I've driven home (approx 20 miles) on the heater cable

Definitely NOT recomended

I find when they go - they stick open - so not good

not sure wether 2 would be any more reliable than 1

keep em well oiled

How does the block fit? So some pedal assy bending. Drilling new holes in the bulkhead and fitting retainers for the pure cable.

Have fun.

Just use one.

Is that not the block they use to make one cable actuate to carbs?

Having two cables at the carb end is no good if the single cable at the pedal can still break.

No pedal bending etc, just a straight 'plug and play' assembly.

two reasons for these,

1 reliability,

2 when a throttle cable goes on a rally stage, chances are it will be at full throttle, loosing power half way through a bend is often going to result in a smash from lift of oversteer.
