Hi all I am having some alloys machined for my build and am looking heavily into colour schemes.  After a bit of Photoshop work I am thinking that anodised Red would be most visually suitable......however the one concern that I have is obvious fading in general and especially in sunlight over the course of a couple years lets say.  I can appreciate that all finishes fade to some degree but apparently red fades to pink rather quickly which I definitely would like to avoid.  If this is the case then I am thinking gun mental silver/grey would be a nice runner up.

What are any of your experiences or if anyone has any knowledge/tips/etc to share I would really appreciate it before committing to purchase.

Thanks ever so much

Dan

Where will the car be stored? If it's in a dark garage you should be ok, if it's outside all the time then it's likely to go pinky fairly quick.

Thanks heaps for the quick reply.

Yeh to be honest the car will be garaged whenever stored away and never outside unless at a show or when being driven.  Even if I trailer it anywhere it will be covered up so I think UV exposure time will probably be one day a week going by how much time I get to use the bloody thing lol.

I would imagine the proposed finish would be quite long lasting and durable given the limited use you plan.

Over the past few years this problem has generally gone away, due to the development of paint molecular make up and their pigments.

So long as a good lacquer is applied you should not have any problem.
