Quite simply as titled. Car has been laid up for a while, will be replacing disks and pads as they are ruined.

Could anyone tell me what these calipers are?

7.4" disks I believe.

Those are Metro calipers so the discs should be 8.4".

Agreed, although the discs almost look too small for the calipers.
It not some wierd home brew effort of trying to get 10" wheels to fit is it?

Interesting.

I have not touched the brakes since taking ownership of the car.

The disks are not 8.4" and these were running under 10" wheels.  I guess having a smaller disk means that the pad doe not have full contact.

I think you'll find they were 8.4" Discs, but now machined down to 7.9" so most 10" wheels will go over them.

I think a few places have them on the shelf.

The problem is machined down discs won't make any difference to wheel clearance if the caliper remains in its standard possition.

I would guess that it has had the mounting holes changed as I can not see any grinding on the caliper and the high points are where the rubber desks are.......

I think I am going to have to investigate this further. Its amazing what you overlook.
The brakes have been running under tens since I bought it. I want to keep them under 10's. Will probably change the whole lot, I guess that means hubs and all needs to be replaced. 7.9 or the slightly smaller cooper s?

I can't see to be 100% sure, however it's likely that the Hubs are proper Disc types for a Mini (have a look at the ball joints, if they have a grease nipple, then they are very likely Mini ones), and if this is the case, these are the same ones as were fitted to the Cooper S with 7.5" Discs, so you'd need Calipers, Disc abd Drive Flange.

But, why change?   Just fix up what you have.

Thanks for the information, greatly appreciated.

I'm concerned as to how the p/o has managed to get the disks & calipers under 10" wheels. and that by using a 7.4" disk, how much pad to disk contact am I truly getting...

they don't look like 7.5 discs but modded 8.4 they use different drive flanges.

Like I said above modded mounting points? but you will need to show more-
