Air Filter Box Stud Snapped

Best Answer Spider , 19 January 2015 - 09:25 AM

That's part of the abutment plate, not actually part of the manifold.

If you remove the carb, the abutment plate is the next bit that comes off. You maybe able to find another, however fairly easy to fix too. Drill out the old one, braze (or maybe carfully weld) a bolt from underneit, bingo, instant stud. Thread is 1/4" UNC but you'll equally get away with a 1/4" Whitworth one (many hardware stores carry these).

Hi all,

I was refitting the air filter box and when doing so I snapped the bolt/stud that comes out of the fitting from the manifold. Is it possible to replace it. Also the stud that comes out of the carb is bent. Can this also be replaced?

Cheers,

Vinay

Are you able to take a photo of the broken bolt? I can't picture what you're describing..

The bolt in front of the carb is the one I broke

Thank you Moke Spider. I was worried that it was going to be an expensive item to fix.
