Jure,

Good luck with the car ... I was 17 when I got my first set of wheels and learnt a lot about mechanics and maintenance taking it apart bit by bit and rebuilding.

Make a plan! Decide what you want to do first otherwise your brain will be in constant overdrive and you never finish because you change your mind as you go. What is the end plan for this project? And stick to it.

Decide what you MUST do then WANT to do and plan it all out. You might even find you can start costing it up (that's when wants become maybes). Then slowly work through it step by step. Somethings are easy to group like engine, suspension, bodywork, interior, electrics, etc. Tackle one piece at a time unless you have to wait for parts then pick off a small task to fill in the time but don't start something big or two things don't get finished.

And make the planning part of the fun ... :-) Make drawings, etc ... Enjoy the experience!

1000cc, look at the thermostat housing.

I can only presume you mean the angle of the thermostat housing? I'd wager my Sunday roast on that being a 1275 head: and my Sunday afters that it's probably sitting on an early A series 1275 block from an Austin/Morris 1300.

Could be someone fitted a 1275 thermostat housing? .. Lubiana may not be awash with Mini spares!
