She now has an MOT!!!!
all the cabinets are back in.
Bed and a few other bits need trimming to finish off.
Looks so much better with the lower grill.
Commer are a nightmare to lower but the low profile tyres have dropped it down a few inches already.
So there we are she's ready to go, only issue now is even though its tax free the nobs at the DVLA won't let me tax it until the logbooks in my name so I am now waiting for that to come though.

Picked the van up.
Got half way home.
got the van home in the end.
Did a few bits to it already.
The reason for the truck was the van kept blowing the fuel hose off the carb and the ignition light was staying on so I don't think it was charging the battery, there also was a nasty knocking noise and its didn't seem to be running right.
Had a look over the van, the alternator belt seem to have come loose which would explain the light, now the van didn't have its proper cap on but one of those emergence caps you get from a petrol station, now i'm wondering if commer fuel caps are meant to be vented, as the one on there is not venting that could be why its building up pressure and blowing the hose off all the time.
As for the knocking/no running very well, checked the oil and full of the mayo looking stuff, BALLS, so thats the head gasket gone which would explain that.
So yea few teething issues haha, but I do bloody love the van, Ross and Sam came over yesterday to have a look and help with a few bits after that we bought some diner and had it in the van haha.
Looking forward to summer next year so I can get out and about.

Shame about the HG and slight teething issues. It will be worth it all next summer though when you get to shows and things in it.

Cheers guys, yea well it was all expected really it is a 42 year old van haha, Unsure what to do about fixing it, done plenty of mini head gaskets so i don't think it will be hard, There are a few upgrades I want to do this though which I was gonna do next year might might get it sent away and have it all sorted at the same time, theres a chap that makes inlets so you can get some SU carbs on as well as converting a 6 speed lexus gear box to fit which make these vans so much more usable, so at the moment I keeping options open with what to do with it,

The vented caps are to stop the fuel tank vacuuming, not creating pressure, so I doubt that's your problem. Does it have an electric pump? Maybe it needs a regulator.
Or it could just be very old hose that won't compress properly with a jubilee.

And on the head gasket side of things, looks like the van will go away for another little holiday ha, speak to a bloke who specialises in commers, I think I'll send it to him to have the head gasket done, while he has it, he will skim and port the head, do an SU carb conversion on it and fit a lexus 6 speed box, speaking to people that have had this done it seems to make the van so much more usable and reliable.
Had my mate Alex who's a carpenter pop over last night, he's given me a list of what to buy, we are then gonna remake all the cabinet in the back with a few little changes here and there. I made a picnic table in school for my GCSE and got a A for it apart from making a speaker bored for a mini I'v not really done any wood work again since so looking forward to getting stuck in!
