wood sandwich wins every time for me, been doing it for years on wood projects. some pine fence board is normally my top choice, often found in building site skips :shifty:

Managed this, used a hole cutter on a drill, took it easy and it turned out fine. The cutter chipped the varnish on the third hole, luckily the bezel on the gauge covers this.
