Who else has used rust bullet and what do you think of it?
How good is it compared to pos15?

I used por15 on my subframes when I built the mini the first time, I used it every day for 2 years no matter the weather and when I removed the subframes recently they are still in perfect condition

Hi I've used POR15 and think it's great but try getting off your brush you might as well throw it away after use

We used hammerite on my 998, primed with 2k high build grey primer but before starting we put the heaters on for a few hours.

Sorry to hijack, but I was about to ask the same question. I've got a new floor coming at the weekend and want to paint the inside of the sill cavity before I weld it all up. As such which por15 would you recommend?

The panels are heritage e coated. Should I just paint the por15 top coat over it or would the por15 rust preventer be better?

Or

Or are you supposed to paint one over the other?

Any specifc prep recommendations appreciated

As I understand, the rust preventer needs to go straight onto bare metal so you would need to remove the e coat. And I believe you can then use the chassis black top coat on top of that?
To be honest, I didn't see the top coat when I was looking but it seems like you can apply it over the top of other primers?

In the last 5 years I've done several subframes for myself and friends and everyone of them I painted in this http://www.toolstati...nt 500ml/p61654
I done mine 5 years ago and i checked the rear subframe the other day while i was removing the exhaust system and it looks as good now as the day I done it. Never had any complains from others I've done either. I have used both the smooth and hammer finish, the smooth is black but found the hammer to be more of a grey colour, but still very good.

If you can get a hold of some "Esbjerg Maskinemalje" - then it's absolute brilliant! It's an enamel intended for agricultural equipment. Comes if a few colours, white, grey and black - and maybe others.

It's made here in Denmark. :)

Aldi do a good straight to metal paint. The aerosols are in stock at the moment, £2.99 each. They also do it as a 500ml tin for about a fiver if you can find it. I have used the spray cans on my car, just in the boot and behind the bumper area, as it is black anyway. Dries very hard.
