Hello fellow mini folk,

Before I drill a hole in my bootlid, I was looking for your opinions on a Lucas type reverse light? They look rather nice on a rally replica, but I'm unsure if it might be too much for my mini.

Your views will be most grateful :-)

Cheers, steve

What fitting a more rectangular one below the bumper in the middle, and not having to drill a hole in the boot.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the spot style reverse lights.

I went with a pair of rectangular Wipac units for my fog and reverse light on my MK3 S rep.

I've done one of those as well on a 90 degree bracket on the centre bumper bolt.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. It looks clean and if you want to remove it at anytime in the future, the bodywork and bumpers won't have holes in them.

That's what I wanted originally....then I saw the price!!
Mines a vintage miller spot light. Not the same I know, but it has a classic look to it so it will do for now

Here is mine, i think they look awesome!

Be careful though, because you are only allowed a certain wattage (21W? possibly) for reverse lights!

For your motor, the mk1 look is lovely as is!

Cheers for the advice and comments.

I have modified the inside of the lamp to fit a more modern 21w bulb, as the one fitted originally was an big old fashioned thing that looked more like a household bulb!!

I eventually settled on the under bumper ones, but went to the added effort of making up separate bracket to hang them from.
