I'm 99% no arches. 50% on the roof!! Going to wait till I figure out "if" I want get the cooper s replicas with the hub caps or not...

Researching if the real cooper s reverse wheels have a deeper dish or better off set than the 4.5 replica wheel.
If my 510 didn't have the same style wheel I would prob keep these mini lights.

It would look great with some cooper s wheels! Apparently the cooper s wheels down here were 3.5" rather than 4.5" wheels and were gold with the holes.

Reverse 4.5" steels have an offset of +16 and more dish than the standard cooper ones. They won't fit without arches and with front discs...

Thank you for that info. Looks like I'll be going the replica route..
So what did the cooper s's come with from the factory? I thought they had 7.5" discs with spacered rear drums and no flares? Unless the later s's came with flares and reverse wheels?
Still learning the in's an outs. :/

The standard Cooper S had the 7.5" brakes and spacer rear drums. They had about an extra inch of offset on each hub.

The standard Cooper S had "LP882" wheels which were 3.5x10 +46
There were optional "LP883" wheels which were 4.5x10 +36
Both these wheels fit under standard arches.

The reverse offset rim was not factory fitted. It is "LP918" which is 4.5x10 +16. It was for people who still had flat drums front and back but wanted wider wheels.

Once again, thank you for clearing that up for me.
Can I ask you one more question/opinion?

Since I'm trying to go as low as possible (I know there's a lot of mixed feelings on that topic) but do you think or would you recomend me running the 3.5" with my set up or would the offset put them as far out/in-line as the 4.5's?
If my math is correct, the 3.5's would be about only about 1/4" more inward?
I do not want to run flares or cut my front wings
Hope I explained that right.

If you were trying to get your car really low I think you'd need all the clearance you can get.

There was also the standard 850 wheels "LP888" which had an offset of +24

There is a good wheel resource here too, not sure if you have seen it?

I think your car looks perfect the way it is. Fantastic looking 70's Mk3.

If you change the wheels i'd go with silver over 60's style white ones.

Thanks mr j.

And thank you Timmy, I did not see that wheel info thread. Would be nice to find someone local to try some wheels out but we only have a handful of minis where I'm located... I might put a wanted ad on here to see if anyone has a set that won't break the bank.

Looks great! What sort of reception does the classic mini get in the states?
