How much bhp would you expect from a 1360 stage2,i have a chance of getting one cheap.

Not sure what piston size you would need to get 1360.

There are so many variables to what power you'd get. Anything from 80 to 120 bhp!

Seriously though bud, thats an almost impossible question to answer without knowing more about the actual engine spec.

 

Get some more details, and we can provide a more accurate guesstimation.

If it has a 73 mm bore make absolutely sure the bores have been offset or the head gasket will keep on blowing between 2 & 3.

Should that not be the case or if you can't be sure, then don't get it.

If it has not been offset bored, you could sleeve it back to 1275 and it would be fine again, but that would not be cheap.

The problem with buying big-bored engines which have been taken out to near the limit is that if/when another re-bore is needed it will be very expensive.

Unless racing a bigger engine is not an advantage really.

At 73 you could still go out to 73.5 if offset bored. And then you can still sleeve back down again afterwards.
Although, despite Internet claims, there is no real shortage of blocks yet so I'd just stockpile one or two for future use with the bigger pistons.

73mm doesnt need to be offset bored.

 

I have a 1360 engine, after my previous engine died, I needed a re-bore and as the engine hadnt previously been offset bored to accomidate 73.5mm pistons to go up a size to 1380, Southam mini metro centre suggested I look towards 73mm pistons to keep life in the engine. I did so and engine was still going strong till the shell rebuild

No, it doesn't need to be. But if it isn't, i think it stops you going any further.
