If I take a block from standard to +0.060" I'll offset it anyway. This means you set the blocks future life to its most reliable state. Which is of course the whole point of building any road engine.

Thats only an option if boring from a standard bore isnt it? Where my block was 1340 or something like that previously my only chance of not seeking a new block was to go to the 73mm piston

 

Something I have never thought too much about, can you offset bore a 1293? then that should allow chance of sizing up all the way to 1380 should the need ever arise

You can offset a bock in only 0.040".
