Yes actually, i had to put the project on hold a bit while i finished off my previous project, so that i could fit this in the build area.

I have about 80% finished the trailer frame build, so will be posting photos etc within the next week or so.

:-D

RIGHT THEN!!!!

Nearly done so thought id post a build log:

Nice big build space empty and ready to go.

Frame Metal arrived, pre-cut, saved SO much work, and likely to be more accurate than i could do myself anyway.
Attached File  2.jpg   64.19K   17 downloads

WOOO!! My Laser cut parts came, I ordered 5 full sets (Minimum order!!)

Attached File  3.jpg   59.88K   20 downloads

Mockup layout, looks like it should work.

Attached File  4.jpg   82.3K   11 downloads

ok, time for a WELD... :-D

Attached File  5.jpg   50.73K   17 downloads

I made up a jig from some scrap, makes life much easier.

Attached File  6.jpg   90.36K   19 downloads

The centre hinges are the most important part of the build, the strength of these is paramount.

Attached File  7.jpg   47.9K   17 downloads

Attached File  8.jpg   47.26K   13 downloads

Looking good, if anything over-engineered, but id rather be safe than have the frame fall in half on the motorway...!!!!

Attached File  9.jpg   68.46K   26 downloads

One set finished, now for the other.

Attached File  10.jpg   71.63K   22 downloads

Both sets complete.

Attached File  11.jpg   55.18K   16 downloads

timelapse................
much swearing, welding, burning etc later, we have a nearly complete frame!!
Attached File  12.jpg   55.14K   31 downloads

Frame basically complete, need to cut down the A-frame still but you get the idea.

Attached File  13.JPG   99.96K   46 downloads

And the frame in its folded position, immediately its obvious how much space this will save.

Attached File  14.JPG   98.25K   68 downloads

Next I need to mount the winch, arches and electrics, send the frame for galvanising, and get the tread-plate ordered.

Could it be towed folded in half?

You could yes, although you would need a 2nd set of lights and number plate on there to be legal - its certainly on my plans, but an option.
